Favourite things

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad

This is one of my all time favourite movies and songs...The words are as simple as they can get and it conveys a very beautiful message which is apt to all of us at some point or other in our life.
We all go through phases when we are sad and are frustrated or dissapointed..but thats when we prefer to be go down memory lane and think of past incidents and things which bring a smile to our face.
For me...whenever Iam upset I ease up and try to be stress free by going to the nearest Ice cream shop.It instantly makes me feel better...How about you?

Mixed thoughts

I wonder often why it so happens that we dont know
How the years fly by and we all grow

Through the years, so much has come and gone
Just as it was for me, it will take time for realization to dawn

There is a difference in manners and thoughts
Amidst a huge crowd we all get caught

At times we end up listening to our heart
And at times we wonder, why did I not let my head play a better part??

We all feel we are going through so much pain
And in the end we are the ones being called insane

Life to me looks like balancing scales
Which side to put the weights on is a neverending tale

For people I love I am willing to rise and fall
In return do I want nothing....nothing at all?
